Executive Administrative Assistant

Compensation Range: $65,000-$75,000 annually

This position provides high-level, confidential administrative support to the County Manager in the daily operations of Lake County Government. The role is responsible for managing complex administrative tasks that support the County Manager’s executive functions, including the preparation of materials related to legislative, policy, and management matters.
Work is performed in accordance with established County procedures and under the direction of the County Manager. The position serves as a key liaison between the County Manager, Department Directors, and the public. The Executive Assistant collaborates closely with staff across the organization to coordinate, prepare, and deliver reports, presentations, and other information required by the County Manager.

Essential Functions
- Provide high-level, confidential administrative support to the County Manager in daily operations and executive functions.
- Prepare and coordinate reports, presentations, and materials for the County Manager’s Office, Department Directors, and external partners.
- Serve as a liaison between the County Manager, Departments, Offices, and the public to ensure clear and timely communication.
- Act as a resource and subject-matter expert in assigned program areas, providing technical guidance to staff as needed.
- Conduct special studies and manage assigned projects to support organizational goals and decision-making.
- Oversee and administer general administrative programs; act as the primary informational contact; ensure compliance with established procedures and recommend improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support procurement activities, coordinating contracted services, processing invoices, and working with Accounts Payable.
- Manage content and train staff on the County webpage.
- Assist with policy development and implementation through research, drafting, analysis, and tracking of legislative and administrative initiatives.
- Support budget coordination by monitoring departmental submissions, preparing summaries, and tracking expenditures as directed by the County Manager.
- Assist with project management by tracking timelines, deliverables, and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Manage scheduling and calendars, including organizing meetings, public hearings, and community engagement activities.
- Promote smooth operations through attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and professional discretion.
- Perform related duties as required to ensure the County Manager’s Office runs effectively—and generally keep things awesome.

Requirements
Compensation will be determined by the applicants full skillset with consideration of the below:
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and administrative support functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is essential.
- Proficiency in performing accounting-related calculations, including interest, percentages, decimals, and fractions; experience with spreadsheets and budget tracking preferred.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and represent the County Manager’s Office in a professional manner when interacting with staff, elected officials, and the public.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity.
- Willingness and ability to travel to conferences, trainings, or events within and outside the State of Colorado as needed.
- English and Spanish language abilities strongly preferred.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, or climbing.
- Occasional pushing, pulling, or moving objects.
- Use of hands for repetitive motions such as typing, writing, or operating equipment.
- Operation of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, etc.).
- Visual acuity to read and produce accurate documents and materials.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work at heights.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or machinery.
- Standard office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.

- Travel to offsite locations or satellite facilities.

- May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or be on-call.

With advanced notification from OEM, employees will make reasonable efforts to attend training events in coordination with other employees and supervisors.
